FAQ

What do I have to do to become a volunteer?

To become a volunteer you first must complete the volunteer application, and volunteer agreement which is located on the lower left hand side of our web page. After completing that, email it to Evelyn or Jim (contact info on the 'contact us' link on left side), or print it and bring when you come out to HyTyme, or send your applications to

HyTyme Equine Rescue
P.O. Box 570
Eagle Creek, Oregon 97022

And also children 18 and under must have an parent or guardian accompany them when they are out on the ranch.

What is a volunteer orientation and when are they held?

A volunteer orientation is when we hold a day where we gather numerous new volunteers together and give them the tour of the rescue, and go over rules, go over additional info, different tasks you can do, and answer any questions you might have. We have volunteer orientations usually each month, and we will post the dates on our website, so keep checking back for updates.

What if I don't have a printer or forgot my application when I visit HyTyme?

We have extra applications at the rescue for you if you need them, just ask one of our main volunteers.  And remember for your safety absolutley no one can go in the fields, go in with the horses, or catch horses without the completed applications!

—————

Can I still volunteer even if I can only come down once a month?

Absolutley, we are thankful for any volunteers that we get, even if you can only come out once every so often that completley fine, you come out when you can, and as often as you would like.

—————

What if I didn't make it to an volunteer orientation, and I want to come out but am not sure what I can do?

What you can do is email someone on the HyTyme staff and let them know what day you'll be showing up at, and they will let you know who all will be out there and have someone help you get started.

Can I get a project horse, how does that work?

What type of volunteer jobs can I do at HyTyme?

There are many jobs volunteers can do, like feeding the horses, cleaning stalls, grooming the horses, riding the horses, training the horses, cleaning and organizing the barns, picking up trash, etc.  We also are in need of people that are experienced in fundraising, riding, training, and grant writing.

Also HyTyme has some unfinished projects that we could use some help on, such as Arena Work, Fencing, Electrical Work, Lighting, Tack Room, Horse Stalls, and Building.  So if you have any experience in these areas and would like to help we'd very much appreciate it.

Can I get the driving directions to HyTyme??

HyTyme is not open to the public. Please Do Not come out to HyTyme unless you are a current volunteer, or have permission from the owner, or are coming out for a new volunteer orientation. Thank You.

I 205 to Estacada Mt Hood Exit (hwy 224). Head East towards Estacada. Remember --- Always follow signs to Estacada.  In about 10 miles, you’ll go by Eagle Creek (Chevron station, and a Jackpot). Keep heading towards Estacada. In aprox 2 or 3 miles turn right on Heiple Road. We are the 2nd house on the right. Go to the next driveway after the house. That goes back to the barns.
